Protecting Your Activism: Information Security

Protecting Your Activism Workshop Series | Information Security

Information is power – and yours is worth protecting! In the second of our three-part series on Protecting Your Activism, we’ll introduce attendees to threat modeling where you’ll ask what information do you have that you want to protect, who do you want to protect it from, and what steps are you willing to take to protect it. We’ll cover best practices for securing your files, accounts, and communications, including password management, encryption basics, and threat awareness. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have developed a personal InfoSec plan that’s effective for safeguarding the information you want to protect.

This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to minimize their digital footprint and make it harder for Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) gathering to work on them.

PLEASE RSVP so we can set up the room accordingly!

Parking: Free parking is available in UNO’s Lot E (north of campus, between the Library and Performing Arts Center, near the bell tower). If an attendant is present, mention you’re attending the OMAHA Humanist meeting, and they will grant access.

Note: Per UNO’s policies, outside food is not allowed at this event.
