Protecting Your Activism Workshop Series | Operational Security

It’s the third and final presentation in our three-part series on Protecting Your Activism and by now you’ve built a strong InfoSec foundation, but are you leaving the door unlocked? Operational Security (OpSec) is about the human element of security – the daily practices that can make or break your protection. This workshop will explore how adversaries gather information through observation, social engineering, and analyzing your routines. We’ll cover topics like:

  • Situational Awareness: Recognizing potential threats in your environment.
  • Digital Footprint Management: Minimizing information leakage online and offline.
  • Secure Communication Habits: Avoiding common pitfalls in email, messaging, and social media.
  • Travel Security: Protecting yourself while organizing or participating in actions.

This workshop will equip you with the practical skills to reinforce your InfoSec plan and stay safe while advocating for change.

PLEASE RSVP so we can set up the room accordingly!

Parking: Free parking is available in UNO’s Lot E (north of campus, between the Library and Performing Arts Center, near the bell tower). If an attendant is present, mention you’re attending the OMAHA Humanist meeting, and they will grant access.

Note: Per UNO’s policies, outside food is not allowed at this event.
