Secular Book Club – Private Home October 19, 2025

October 19, 2025 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Free
Updated Tues, 10/14.     This week, we will be meeting at the home of one of our members.   If you are not known to the host of the Book Club, please look past this meeting, and consider joining us at our next meeting at a public venue (usually HyVee Papillion Community Room).
Our current book is “Brain Rules (Updated and Expanded): 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School Second Edition”  by John Medina.

Are you looking to engage in thoughtful (and/or fun) discussions and connect with fellow book lovers? Join the Omaha Metro Area Humanist Association’s Weekly Book Club! We gather every week to explore the latest chapters of our selected book, engage in lively conversations, and enjoy a relaxed lunch together. Our meetups offer a welcoming environment for those interested in deepening their knowledge on a variety of thought-provoking topics.

Our book club focuses on a wide range of primarily non-fiction genres that inspire curiosity and expand our understanding of the world. From the history of world philosophies and scientific discoveries to the evolution of humanity—both physical and psychological—we cover books that encourage critical thinking and meaningful dialogue. We typically complete a book in 4-6 weeks, allowing for an in-depth exploration of each topic.

We look forward to welcoming you to our community of readers and thinkers!

Don’t be put off by a smattering of RSVPs here.  We typically have 12-20 around the table, in any event.
