River City Response Food Drive Collection Assistance

Volunteer Call: Help Staff the Holy Cross Lutheran Food Bank – Sat 11/22

Omaha Humanists will be helping our local 50501 chapter with their city-wide “River City Response” Omaha Food Drive on Saturday, November 22, from 1–4 PM.

Our group is staffing the Holy Cross Lutheran drop-off location:

4117 Terrace Dr (98th & Sprague)

We’ll be greeting donors, accepting food and household goods, sorting items, and generally helping out in support of Omaha area families in need.  If you’re unable to join us on site, please help promote the event by sharing it on your social media pages.

Most-needed items include:

• Canned goods, boxed meals, meal starters
• Pasta + sauce, mac & cheese, ramen, cereal
• Baby formula, diapers
• Toiletries (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash)
• Paper products, cleaning supplies
• Pet food, nut butters, soups
• Period supplies

If you can help for all or part of the 1–4 PM window, we’d love to have you there.  It’s a simple, high-impact way to support food-insecure families right here in Omaha.  Wear your OMAHA shirt or, if you don’t have one, we’ll have Humanist-themed buttons for you.  Humanists helping Humans is what we’re all about!!
