No Kings Day – A National Day of Action

June 14, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Free

Join the Omaha Metro Area Humanist Association as we stand in solidarity with communities across the country for No Kings Day, a nationwide day of action rejecting authoritarianism and affirming the values of democracy, human dignity, and the rule of law.

On June 14, President Donald Trump’s birthday, a massive military spectacle is being staged in Washington, D.C. While millions of dollars are spent on this performative show of force, veterans face cuts to healthcare and housing, and civil liberties are increasingly under threat.

This day is not about spectacle, it’s about substance.
It’s about saying:
No thrones. No crowns. No kings.

OMAHA is proud to participate in this nonviolent demonstration to affirm our belief in reason, equality, secularism, and progress. This event is not just a protest—it’s a declaration of shared values and a commitment to a future grounded in human rights and democratic principles.

🕊️ A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

This is a peaceful gathering for all who oppose the rise of authoritarianism and support a government accountable to the people—not one that seeks to rule over them.

OMAHA will be tabling at the event and we have a short speakers spot as well!  Let’s make history together and show that patriotism doesn’t belong to any one person, it belongs to all of us.

Be sure to let the event organizers know your coming so they plan for an appropriate crowd size.  You can use this special registration link to credit the American Humanist Association for your registration.  https://www.nokings.org/?SQF_SOURCE=aha
