BOOK CLUB TODAY IS CANCELLED. 12/28/2025
Wet pavement plus rapidly dropping temps plus bad winds and a sprinkling of snow just for fun = Nope + Nope + Nope. I don’t want anyone going out today .
Temps are too treacherous to be stuck on a hill or blown into a ditch.

Special Note: Is winter peeking around the corner? In the coming weeks, snow, wind, and ice will eventually make road travel hazardous. Here’s my Plan for this winter just as prior years:
By 10:00 AM on snow/ice day, I will study the runes and shake the shells, and pore over the weather graphics. I will always err on the side of caution. If I am calling off our gathering for that day, I will endeavor to reach *everyone* via this page before 11:00AM. – DEG

We gather every week to explore the latest chapters of our selected book, engage in lively conversations, and enjoy a relaxed lunch together. Our meetups offer a welcoming environment for those interested in deepening their knowledge on a variety of thought-provoking topics.
Our book club focuses on a wide range of primarily non-fiction genres that inspire curiosity and expand our understanding of the world. From the history of world philosophies and scientific discoveries to the evolution of humanity—both physical and psychological—we cover books that encourage critical thinking and meaningful dialogue. We typically complete a book in 4-6 weeks, allowing for an in-depth exploration of each topic.

(Because we pay HyVee for the use of this room, we do ask for a contribution to the Tip Jar to help cover that cost. ~ $2 per person would be ideal; but it is voluntary.)
